Our president, Hideki Shibata, has been appointed to a director of WAJOY, the general incorporated association for the international promotion of Japanese crafts, as of January 4, 2024.
Based on the concept of “Making the Heart of Japan a World Heritage”, WAJOY aims to connect traditional Japanese crafts with people in Europe and the United States who love Japanese culture, and to protect and pass on the excellent techniques of Japanese crafts as well as the Japanese spirit that supports these techniques to the world.
Our president has long been committed to the inheritance of Japanese culture, deeply sympathizes with WAJOY President Mayumi Tachikawa’s vision of “raising global awareness of traditional Japanese crafts” and has decided to take on the challenge of creating new value as a member of WAJOY.
Through his appointment to the board of directors of this association, he will contribute to the establishment of the global status of Japanese crafts and the development of the industry as a whole, thereby communicating the true value of Japanese crafts to as many people as possible.
